A Year in Films: 2018 Wrap Up

2018 was a big year for me in terms of my media challenge. I started off with a focus on watching 100 movies and reading 24 books by the end of 2018. I may not have been completely successful, as I mentioned in my previous blog post, but I got through a lot of media. I’m super excited for 2019 to actually reach my goal of 100 (new to me) films seen over the course of the year.

*Bonus: Bandersnatch (2018)? I don’t even know what to consider this work.

… and that’s it. That is every movie, film, documentary, or comedy special I sat through in 2018. Some of them were amazing (see: Sorry to Bother You, Bad Times at the El Royal, Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse, Okja, Eighth Grade, Midnight in Paris, Black Panther, Captain Fantastic), and others were not so amazing (read: horrible, see: the christmas movies, The Kissing Booth, Shock Treatment, Hoop Dreams, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World). Though, the fact is I took in each and every one of these stories over the course of this year and I’m so proud of myself for doing that. I’ve found some new favorites along the way, and I got my first ever film review published (I’ve linked a few above) during the process. So here’s to new films, more opinions, and 2019.
